Information for New Patients

Initial consultation
Your initial consultation offers an opportunity to meet Dr. Kaplan in a relaxed, private setting and discuss any orthodontic concerns—whether for yourself or your child. Following a comprehensive clinical assessment, Dr. Kaplan will take the time to understand your individual goals and treatment priorities.

You will be guided through a carefully considered range of treatment options, with clear information on anticipated timelines and investment. For adult patients, this includes refined, low-profile solutions designed to integrate seamlessly with professional and personal lifestyles.

Our experienced team will also be pleased to explain our flexible payment options, thoughtfully tailored to your financial preferences. With a complete understanding of your treatment plan and choices, you can move forward with confidence, knowing each step of your orthodontic journey has been designed around you.

Records appointment
If you decide to go ahead with treatment, complete diagnostic records will be taken in order to determine an optimal treatment plan. These records include a medical and dental history, detailed clinical examination, X-rays, photographs of the face and teeth, and digital impressions of the teeth. This information allows Dr Kaplan to precisely evaluate each case, and customise a treatment plan to fulfil your specific needs. After this appointment, you will receive a detailed written report outlining the following:
-
Findings from the exam
-
Ideal treatment plan and goals
-
Approximate treatment duration
-
Cost of treatment and payment structure
-
Item numbers for health fund claims
Dr Kaplan and her friendly staff are always available to answer any further queries you may have about your report.Free initial consultation
Your complementary initial consultation will give you the opportunity to meet Dr Kaplan and address any orthodontic questions you might have. After an initial exam and discussion about you or your child's treatment needs, Dr Kaplan will recommend available treatment options, discuss approximately how long it will take, and estimate how much it will cost. At this time, our staff is also happy to discuss the various payment plan options we offer to best meet your financial needs. After your initial appointment, you will have all the information you need to make a decision about whether to proceed with treatment.

Starting treatment
After receiving the report, you are now ready to start orthodontic treatment. Once your appliances (braces, Invisalign, etc.) have been placed, you will then see us for short (30 minute) appointments at 4 to 8 week intervals. It is very important that you continue to schedule visits to your family dentist once every 6 months for teeth cleaning and routine dental check-ups, even during your orthodontic treatment.
